The PortalCam is a handheld spatial-capture camera system designed to record real-world spaces as fully navigable 3D environments. It marries LiDAR depth sensing, a multi-camera array, and automated processing to produce photorealistic 3D models that can be walked through, edited, and shared Key Features

• 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) native: Built specifically for Gaussian splatting workflows to generate rich, detailed 3D environments with strong visual realism.  
• Hardware configuration:
  • LiDAR: ~856,000 points/second, up to ~60 m range, 180° × 180° field of view. 
  • Cameras: Four 12MP sensors (2 front facing, 2 fisheye) to capture wide-angle colour imagery: front cameras ~180°×150°, fisheye ~200°×200°.  
• Portable & lightweight design: Weighs under 900 g (≈1.9 lb) and compact enough for indoor and outdoor use.  
• Efficient capture workflow: Capable of scanning ~200 m² in approximately 15 minutes, with full model generation in as little as ~5 hours (depending on complexity).  
• Seamless software & sharing: Data flows into the company’s LCC Studio software for automated processing, then models can be viewed, edited, annotated and shared via web/browsers or exported to engines like Unreal Engine / Unity. 
• Wide-application versatility: Suited for real estate virtual tours, film production/virtual sets, VR/AR content creation, cultural heritage scanning, and even personal memory archiving (events, settings).
