Description
  • Two capacities: TSX600 stores up to 600 2-inch boxes while the TSX400 stores up to 400 2-inch boxes
  • Reduce energy usage by additional 10-18% by switching from -80C to -70C setpoint (6.5 kWh/day for TSX400 and 7.8 kWh/day for TSX600)*
  • Choice of standard or high-performance modes offering significant energy savings over conventional refrigerant ultra-low freezers*
  • Outstanding door-opening recovery time (17 minutes for TSX400 and 24 minutes for TSX600)*
  • Warm-up time (from -80°C to -50°C) in 303 minutes (TSX600); 250 minutes (TSX400)*
  • Natural refrigerants for lower environmental impact and higher cooling efficiency
  • Water-blown foam insulation, eliminating chemical emissions and reducing the out-gassing common in other foam products
  • Whisper quiet operation allowing the freezer to be used directly inside the lab (47.5 dBA for TSX400 and 45.5 dBA for TSX600)*
  • Intuitive touch-screen user interface featuring alarm status, door-opening status, temperature status, environmental conditions and back-up system status
  • All TSX Series freezers are manufactured in a zero waste to landfill facility (*Data on file).
  • Warranty varies by country, please contact us for details
  • Energy calculation:  Typical freezer data based on internal testing with freezer set-point at -80°C and ambient temperature at 20°C
  • Warm up time:  Typical freezer data based on internal testing with freezer set point at -80°C and ambient temperature at 20°C
The new Thermo Scientific TSX ultra-low temperature freezer introduces leading sample protection, energy savings and environmentally-friendly features and benefits. The V-drive compressor technology provides temperature uniformity that continually adapts to the lab’s environment, offering significant energy savings without compromising sample protection. Now with two sizes to choose from, make the most of your lab space with the TSX’s 600 box capacity in its 28.8 cu ft footprint or choose the TSX 400 box capacity in the 19.4 cu ft size. Select standard mode or high-performance mode for the most stringent temperature control.
  • Low Energy: 8.7 kw-hr/day for the TSX600 and 7.9kw-hr/day for TSX400 is the lowest on the market and a 50% reduction compared to conventional freezers
  • Quiet operation: less than 46db
  • Sustainability: Natural hydrocarbon refrigerants
  • Water blown foam insulation
  • Zero Waste to Landfill production site
  • V-drive compressor technology
  • Cascade Refrigeration System
Featuring V-drive compressor technology, the TSX Series freezer provides temperature uniformity that adapts to the environment, protecting samples and offering significant energy savings. While conventional ULT freezers use single speed compressors that continually cycle on and off, the V-drive runs at variable speeds, adjusting cooling performance to the conditions inside and outside the freezer. When conditions are stable, the V-drive runs at a low speed, reducing energy consumption while maintaining a stable temperature for sample protection. When there are frequent door openings, or samples are added to the freezer, the system detects the activity and increases the drive speed.

Construction features now include; two polystyrene insulated inner doors with embedded rare earth magnets; reinforced shelves that support up to 245lbs. of cargo; 4x7 outer door gasket with four points of security and seven zones of protection to prevent air migration; dual 2" lockable casters; brazed plate heat exchanger; surge suppression; voltage buck/boost; two 1" access ports; door mounted pressure equalization port.

Backup systems inject liquid CO2 or LN2 when cabinet temperature warms to a preset level. Built-in backup systems are available. Liquid flow shuts off automatically when the freezer door is opened.

Rack solutions are available for the TSX model. Choose from both side access or sliding drawer racks for 2" boxes, 3" boxes, standard microplates, and deep well plates. Capacities vary by rack.

Optional proximity card locking option provides access control allowing for enhanced security. On-board computer records who opened the door, when it occurred, and for how long. Temperature recorders are 15.2cm (6") circular models with 7-day temperature recording capability. Recorders use pressure-sensitive chart paper (sold separately) and do not require inking. The remote alarm module provides an audible and visual signal in the event of a temperature rise or power failure.

Freezers are UL listed, C-UL listed, and CE marked. The TSX 400-box units are Significant New Alternatives Policy (SNAP) Compliant.
