DESCRIPTION
The Ice-O-Matic ICEU220FW undercounter ice maker is a water-cooled unit and is therefore ideal for locations that don't need the extra hot air often vented from air-cooled models. The Ice-O-Matic ICEU220FW produces 251 pounds of ice every 24 hours, under optimal temperature conditions of 70 degrees air and 50 degrees water. The self-contained storage bin has a capacity of up to 74 pounds of ice at a time. The Ice-O-Matic ICEU220FW produces Full Cube ice with dimensions of 7/8 inches x 7/8 inches x 7/8 inches. Full Cube ice is often used in beverages, such as "on-the-rocks" drinks, because the larger cube takes longer to melt and thus there is less dilution of the beverage. The ICEU220FW all-in-one ice machine can be installed in most locations because the unit is only 24.5 inches wide and 39 inches high. This means that nearly any location can accommodate the Ice-O-Matic ICEU220FW as long as there are two incoming water lines (one for making ice and one for cooling the condenser), a water drain for all the waste water after cooling the condenser, and the required 115 volt electrical power. An electrical cord set is included with the unit. WIth a water-cooled condenser that utilizes less electricity, and an ice Harvest Assist feature for extra energy savings, the Ice-O-Matic ICEU220FW only consumes 6.6 kWh per one hundred pounds of ice. An additional benefit of the water-cooled condenser is that since there is no need for any air vents, there is no need for clearance on the sides of the unit. The surrounding area will also stay cooler because there is no hot air being discharged into the room. However, note that the ICEU220FW does use a significantly higher volume of water, since water is used for the ice AND for cooling the unit. Approximately 175 additional gallons of water per 100 pounds of ice produced is flushed out of the unit. However, the Ice-O-Matic ICEU220FW does have a slightly higher ice production rate than the related air-cooled model. Be certain to assess your electricity and water costs prior to purchase.
