PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Our ETDRS (Early Treatment Diabetic Retinopathy Study) is a portable visual acuity testing system which is performed at standard lighting (85 cd/m2) and is designed for measuring acuities in research studies. A peer review article from Will's Eye Hospital showed excellent correlation between this portable EDTRS system and the Stationary EDTRS system. Being equally accurate, our system provides for testing ETDRS acuities without the constraints and costs of a dedicated lane. This portable unit can be taken from lane to lane and from office to office.

Comes with 5 ETDRS visual acuity charts that are identical in letter arrangement as the standard ETDRS charts.

ADDITTIONAL BENEFIT: Due to the adjustable light source brightness, our ETDRS model can also measure the retinal acuity and is not limited to just the ambient visual acuity testing of the standard ETDRS system. The retinal acuity is best acuity that the macula is capable of seeing in the absence of cataract or other media abnormalities.
