The Assaying option consists of the Cress clean air vent system, along with embedded (sealed) heating elements. Element embedding seals the element wires in the porcelain plates and helps protect them from contaminants that can cause premature failure. The cress clean air vent system draws a small amount of fresh air through the furnace chamber to remove contaminants, this is mixed with a large amount of room air and expelled out through a standard 4" metal duct. Unit comes with a heart plate.
It measures 2.5” and it is backed with 1.5” of 1800°F block insulation. The furnace shell is constructed of 18 GA sheet metal. The door opens up away from the user. There is a rope seal on the door that provides a better seal against the furnace. The door mechanism uses two heavy duty springs that keep the door safely closed or open.
