Waters Micromass CapLC Nanoscale Chromatography System

DESCRIPTION

The CapLC fluidics provide a high pressure, direct (non-split) flow optimized for 320 and 180 micron i.d. columns. In gradient mode, Waters routinely observes RT reproducibility of less than 0.2 min standard deviation on a 320 micron i.d. column at 5 uL/min. Waters typically executes a split on the order of 1:20 to achieve flow rates less than 1 uL/min. As additional variables enter into maintaining split-flow, Waters does not provide a specification for flow rates less than 1uL/min As the need for sample limited analyses grows, the detection schemes required for capillary liquid chromatography will increase in scope. The Waters CapLC System may be easily interfaced with alternative detection schemes, such as laser-induced fluorescence detection, to provide sample specific sensitivity and selectivity. The combination of a fluorescence detector with the CapLC System enables increased flexibility in the type of samples analyzed by capillary liquid chromatography.
