NTS offers a broad array of manhole shields that are specifically designed for personnel protection during manhole installations, point repairs, pipe taps, junction box installations and point inspections.
Many of our manhole shields may be easily handled by smaller excavators and rubber tire backhoes. The following types of manhole shields are available in our rental fleet:
  • Single wall lightweight round shields are available in 8.5’ and 10’ diameters and in heights of 4’ and 8’. Adjustable legs and side cut-outs are also available.
  • Single wall and double wall shields with wrap around corner ends are available in 8’ and 10’ widths and in heights of 4’ and 8’.
  • Single wall and double wall 4-sided Tap Boxes are available in widths of 8’ and 10’ and in heights of 4’, 6’, and 8’. Adjustable legs and side cut-outs are also available.
  • Hydraulic Manhole Shields in 4’, 6’ and 8’ heights are available for both static protection and hydraulic active trench wall support. These shields are stackable up to 20’ depths.
