The SL 980’s modern optics have a multilayered anti-reflection treatment that ensures a more effective transmission of light thus giving an improvement of 20% to both optic resolution and contrast The optic quality produces a 20% increase in optic transmission and a 10% increase in depth of field. 

The SL 980 uses a single joystick that controls elevation and horizontal position.
