KWIPPED Selected as Finalist for 2016 NC Tech Awards

Wilmington, N.C. (October 10, 2016) – KWIPPED, Inc. has been selected as a finalist for the NC Tech Awards Use of Technology for E-Commerce Award. The NC Tech Awards is North Carolina’s only statewide technology awards program, recognizing companies and individuals who have characterized excellence, innovation and leadership, presented by the North Carolina Technology Association (NCTA).

KWIPPED, a Wilmington-based startup that went fully operational in the spring of 2015, is an online B2B equipment rental marketplace that facilitates the rental of specialized commercial equipment across more than 20 industry verticals, including: laboratory, medical, surveying, audio-visual, construction, telecom, photography and film and many others. KWIPPED does not own equipment, rather they have partnered with hundreds of qualified equipment suppliers that list their equipment rental inventory on KWIPPED.

Businesses, organizations, universities and government agencies need to rent all kinds of equipment for a wide range of applications. However, sourcing specialized equipment can be difficult, time consuming and often fruitless. We’ve done the sourcing work up front and our platform makes it easy and efficient for renters to locate the equipment they need, compare options and prices from multiple suppliers and schedule the best rental option—all with a few clicks on a single website,” explained KWIPPED co-founder and CEO, Robert Preville.

According to Preville, KWIPPED’s rental customers appreciate the efficiency the platform brings to the rental process, while their suppliers appreciate a new revenue channel that is practically effortless.

Since 1995, the NC Tech Awards have honored companies for outstanding achievement in the tech sector and use of technology. As a finalist in this year’s awards, KWIPPED has distinguished itself as one of the state’s technology leaders,” stated Brooks Raiford, NCTA’s President and CEO.

A review committee comprised of non-profit, media, education, and technology leaders representing various regions of the state selected this year’s finalists. The awards process culminates with the NC Tech Awards Gala on November 10, 2016 at the Raleigh Convention Center where hundreds of leaders from across the state will gather to celebrate the tech sector and honor the winners and finalists in each category.

There’s no question that NCTA is a central hub for North Carolina’s vibrant tech landscape. As a startup among so many outstanding NC tech companies, being recognized as a North Carolina Tech Awards finalist is an honor that provides strong validation for us as a business,” expressed Preville.
