Considerations when renting a concrete coring drill
The goal of any coring drill is to remove a cylindrical piece of material from a substance. In the case of the concrete coring drills, it is to remove a cylinder of concrete. This is extremely useful in a wide range of different scenarios in residential, commercial, and industrial areas. By removing the core, it can create an opening that is then used for pipes, electrical wiring, heating and ventilation, computer lines and fiber optics, and much more.

Features of concrete coring drills

While they are all used for the same purpose, there are a number of different types of concrete coring drills available. They come in different sizes, and they may have different mechanisms that allow them to function. Some are hydraulic, while others are pneumatic or gasoline powered, for example. Most of the core drills that are used with concrete are diamond core drills, and they make use of water to keep them cool as they work.

While there are different types of concrete coring drills available, you will find that the basic method of how they work is very similar across the board. The have a steel tube with diamond segments that make cutting through the concrete easier. The drill rotates at high speeds to begin cutting. The size of the drill bits can vary substantially. Some are very small and only half an inch across. Some of the largest are up to 72”.

When it comes time to choose a drill to rent, contractors need to think about the size they need. This will all depend on factors such as the thickness of the concrete and the reason they are boring holes into it in the first place. if they are putting in large pipes, they would naturally need to have a concrete coring drill that is larger than the half-inch options. Take the time to consider not only the size, but also the method by which you will power the drill.
