With over 35 years of experience, Crystal Pyramid Productions is the oldest and longest-standing video production company in San Diego. CPP was founded in 1981 by Mark Schulze to serve nonprofit clients, including The MAAC project and Environmental Health Coalition (EHC). One of the company’s initial projects set the tone for the future – two videos shot and edited for EHC, one of which, “Get Smart About Toxics”, has been used for decades by environmental facilities across the US.
Over the years, Crystal Pyramid Productions was responsible for a number of “firsts”. For instance, the company’s video “Massage for Relaxation” was the first massage video in the world. The world’s first mountain biking video, “The Great Mountain Biking Video”, was also shot and produced by CPP, and featured the world’s first ever helmet-mounted camera for a first-person POV.
Today, Crystal Pyramid Productions has grown to include cutting-edge video production equipment rentals, including sound equipment, grip and lighting equipment, tripods and state of the art cameras, such as the new Sony FS7 system with the Odyssey 7Q+ recorder and monitor with up to 4K support.
Crystal Pyramid Productions remains dedicated to innovation, education and communication, despite the firm’s immense success in video recording, editing and production, as well as in the equipment rental space. They remain pioneers in the industry, and have garnered quite a few accolades over the years, including the inaugural Heilbron Award from San Diego Business Journal and Rotary Club 33.
A few of the keys to CPP’s success include:
- A committment to educating their clients on the video production process
- Attention to detail
- Completing assignments in the most resourceful manner
- Consistently serving the role of their clients’ off-site audio-visual department
KWIPPED is proud to highlight the high level of quality of our registered equipment rental suppliers, like Crystal Pyramid Productions.
